Maree Davenport has been endorsed as the Liberal Party’s candidate for Mulgrave for the 2018 Victorian State Election. As an active local community member, Maree brings with her a wealth of experience having been previously elected to Victorian Parliament.
Maree was the youngest woman ever elected to the Legislative Council in 1996, where she served until 2002. In her time in Parliament, she was Chair of the Government’s Health Policy Committee and was appointed as Coalition Parliamentary Secretary for Health, Housing Community Services and Aged Care.
Maree was born in Dandenong Hospital and attended St Joseph’s Primary and Killester Catholic Girls School in Springvale. Having established herself in the real estate industry as an agent’s representative, Maree founded a public affairs consultancy for not-for-profit and peak bodies. Since then, she has served as a Member of the Building Appeals Board as well as serving as Chair of the Building Advisory Council.
Following the example of her family by being active in the Dandenong community, Maree has volunteered to a number of charities, and is a current Member of the Monash Children’s Hospital Foundation, as well as the parent-run Dandelion Wishes Gala Ball Committee.
